How to Become a Bay Area Green Business

Since its formation in 1998, RMC Water and Environment has offered environmental engineering services to clients throughout California. Beyond this, RMC Water and Environment is a certified Bay Area Green Business (BAGB). To achieve the BAGB certification, a business must meet several criteria:

1. Compliance – The business will comply with all relevant environmental regulations and assist local agencies in their efforts to verify said compliance. Such efforts may include site inspections conducted by hazardous materials, air quality, and wastewater staff.

2. Conservation – The business commits to taking actions that conserve resources, lower waste production, and preserve the environment. Such actions include, but are not limited to, using recycled paper, printing on both sides of paper, installing low-flow toilets, and using energy-efficient lighting.

3. Pledge – The company takes the BAGB Pledge, found at www.greenbiz.ca.gov/Pledge.html, to stay green.

4. Apply – Complete an application for BAGB certification using the state-wide application system created by the California Green Business Program.
